GRIMSBY BOROUGH APPLY TO ENTER FA NATIONAL FUTSAL LEAGUE

1376409472A formal request has been sent to the Football Association for Grimsby Borough FC to join the FA National Futsal League starting season 2014. Fingers crossed the application will be accepted to play in Division two of the pyramid system. The advantages of working with Borough are many, three to mention:

1    20 plus junior teams, many of which are already playing in junior futsal leagues

2    The club has junior and senior charter standard sections (subject to official ratification of junior section). With their help and advice the same can be achieved for the futsal section as they will already have ticked most of the boxes.

3   The suggestion to work with Borough was met with enthusiasm and support from day one.

A development team, coached by Paul Goodhand, is getting great results in the Grimsby Futsal League Tuesday League. A difficult league for young players to challenge in given the futsal experience of their often highly experienced opponents. They are in great hands with Paul who managed three England futsal appearances in a career hampered by earning money as a semi pro player. Phillip Richards who impressed the football first eleven last week with his fitness presentation will do same for futsal team.

With time to prepare for 2014 team has chance to make an immediate impression when season starts.

Having manged a Grimsby team in the inaugural FA League, division two is not where I want to see us, watch this space……………………
