Bristol Rovers have signed former Manchester City defender Adam Drury on a short-term deal, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Drury is a free agent after leaving City earlier this summer after eight years at the Etihad Stadium.

The 21-year-old joined City as a 12-year-old from Grimsby Town and progressed through the youth ranks, but failed to make a first-team appearance in City’s star-studded team.

The highly-rated full-back had loan spells out at Burton Albion and St Mirren during his time at City and he impressed during those stints.

Drury had a trial at Leeds this summer following his release by City and featured in a pre-season game against York City.
