Sheffield Futsal vs. East Coast Futsal

In blue playing for East Coast is Franlin College Peter Silvester.

Monday – YMCA shock second place Franklin College 6-5, handing league winners title to Willows Valiant.

El Dogo’s rampage Trawl.

Shamrock welcomes win after three losses.  GRS suffer yet another odd goal defeat.

Tuesday form teams, GSC, Newton Heath & Scartholonia all
win.

Junior 6/7 League, four tight, tight matches.  Every game went to the wire, exhausting to
watch.  I coached YMCA in their 3-3 draw with
Elite, so much was happening in the game and so quickly that I did not realise
until day after that no goals was scored second half.  Quite simply if defence was not organised you
conceded.

The only goal with a 2 goal difference was 4-3 until final
kick of game, and that was a goal bound clearance!

The year 8/9 league was goals galore as top teams clashed
with their more lowly partners.  With few
exceptions teams in this league are finding the art of defence difficult, to
often players are watching rather than defending.  Futsal demands the team defends as a group;
you have no attackers if the opposition is in possession.  You have to get back behind the ball.  If you are facing your goal when team
concedes you are out of position.  If you
have back to your own goal then, without further analysis, you are in right
position.  Rest on the bench not on the
pitch!

 Know the Laws.

Dan Mawer refereed a recent BUCAS league match.

At the end of the first half team A had free kick with 1 second left on clock, they shot and scored.

Team B then had same situation at end of game, they passed and scored.

Team B goal was disallowed causing confusion, why?

If player B had shot direct the goal would have stood, as it was he passed, the game ended on that pass.
