Not unusual for Saxons to lose bur unusual for team to not score.

Scartholonia have moved up two notches and the improvement continue?

Newton have expressed a problem, every game they are playing Steve
Goodwin seems to be the opposition goal keeper. Rightly they ask ‘ if
they can field a GK, why can’t other teams?’  Fair point?
Other teams are not expressing this problem as they are glad of Steve’s assistance.  Your comments kevin@futsal.org.uk

Back to the football, this was a game that under normal circumstances
Newton would have won easily and tied up the Championship, the fact that
they draw was singularly down to SG’s exceptional goal keeping,
including a penalty save.

GRS battled but was always chasing a strong Trawler-men side who passed
and moved the ball quickly, using the full court to stetch GRS to
breaking point.  GRS did have chances but needed to take them all to
have got close to the Trawler-men.  Feature of the game was number of
power shots that beat goal keepers to hit goal post and bar.

PS.

SG goal keeping. By playing every night as often as he can SG has greatly improved himself as a GK.

He has been recommended to East Coast Futsal in FA National League.

Steve GK comments:

1_futsal_art_fa_5s_cropped.jpg Hi Kev I think Steve is a fantastic keeper but he does
make the difference in the teams he plays for. And I don’t think it’s fare he
plays for other teams as outfield player cannot! He also played for us for one
game and he was the difference in that game, if he hadn’t played maybe we would
of lost!
Jo – Blaine

Teams can loan one outfield player per game, but must obtain opponents permission first.

The loan GK was intended as a measure to help teams out when struggling for GK, it is a specialist position and they are not to many about.

in the rules submitted to LFA we did add that the rule would be rescinded if abused.

Steve Goodwin is a very good keeper, the fact he
helps other teams out doesn’t seem a problem to me as i know myself it is hard
to find a keeper willing to play so therefore its a great help , i have played
against Steve and we have won and he has also played for us and we have lost
therefore i don’t believe its a crucial deciding factor, yes hes a great keeper
but he still is beatable so therefore I don’t see a problem

I think we have played against Steve
a number of times this season, due to other teams struggling to put a side out.
However I personally do not have an issue with it.

As you have previously said not
having a goalkeeper really changes the game. On a wed night I would expect us
to lose to most teams if we had to stick an outfield player in goal.

We have used Steve twice this year
(Due to my GK dropping out with no notice) and probably played against him 6 or
7 times. I see the fact that he is probably the best keeper down there as a
challenge to our team.

I can also understand if other teams
are aggrieved by this, but I think Steve helps out where he can.
