Futsal Cup

Fresh 4 Blaine 10

Newton Heath 4 GRS 2

Grimsby Soccer Club 2 AFC Trawlermen 8

Weight Watchers 8 Grimsby Saxons 2

No report.

Blaine arrived with all their main players, clearly set up
to give Fresh a run for their money.
Fresh was unusually less organised, key player Scott Harris missing the first
ten minutes of the game due to work delay.
By the time he had arrived Blaine had opened a five – nil gap.

Fresh was like a greyhound stuck in the trap.  When maximum effort was needed to cover for
Scott’s absence it was missing.

Craig Norman was a massive influence on the game for Blaine.

Neither team played to their best, Newton Heath had the edge
throughout thanks the futsal brain of ‘Dicco’ who was the big influence on this
match.

Both teams should have scored more, big chances was missed
by GRS when it looked easier to score than miss.

Not the best of adverts for futsal, too much conversation
and back chat (GSC) and not enough thought on team tactics (GSC).

The Trawlermen shifted the ball quickly, players supported
the man  with the ball, and conversely GSC
players were slow to move the ball and paid the price.

Just in the earlier games one stand out player made a huge
difference to his team and the game result, this time it was Dave Smith
(Trawlermen).
