Junior
School Year 7/8 League:

Red
Dragons 4 GSC Dynamite 1

GSC
struggling since loss of players to GTFC has to commended way players are
fighting for the cause.  The big reward will come with that elusive win.
Red Dragon’s dominated early stages and then let slip a goal after pressure on
the ball by GSC.  As so often the difference between teams at the top and
bottom is the sharper finishing of the top team.

YMCA 6
Lions Pride 2

YMCA
missed enough chances to be in further than the 4-0 lead they built up first
two thirds of match.  Last third was a different story.  Morgon
scored a scissor kick that brought the house down, even opposing players
clapped. Think of Rooney and Manchester United. Inspired Lions scored
immediately to 4-2. Chrissie Fawcett restored parity with 2 goals in two
minutes to halt fight back.

Lion’s
manager Stu Orr is doing a Sky Dive for charity Hearing Dogs for Blind; I am
sure would Stu would be pleased of your support and donations.

Scartho 1
Futsal Tigers 5

Older
more experienced Futsal Tigers just too good for Scartho (formerly Elite) who
battled for every ball and scored couple cracking goals.  A tiger scored
almost every goal from clever give and go passes in opponents half.

Waltham 4
Little Devils 4

Game of
night, more drag backs changes of pace and switches of play than I can recall
any match to date.  Waltham started well but such is futsal found
themselves 2-0 down, recovered went behind, and finished equalising with
seconds on the clock.  Very high standard game.

KB

Junior
School Year 9/10 League:

New Waltham
6       vs        8 AFC Barretts

The first match of the night was certainly a game of
two halves. New Waltham, with it being their first match at the YMCA, took time
to adjust to Futsal. Individually signs of skill were evident but the first
half ended 1 – 5 in favor of AFC Barretts. the restart saw a resurgence and
fight back with solid end to end play and although pulling the difference to
within one goal the final outcome was 6 – 8. Signs however of more potential to
come.

FC Utd  4       vs.       5
Norburn Tigers

This encounter saw two very competent and even sides
battle out a highly skillful and team performance. The two men of the match
were the respective goal keepers who each made save after save to keep their
sides within one goal throughout. With the match drawing to a conclusion and
only second remaining an attack by the Tigers saw a series of saves and player
intervention, all within touching distance of the Utd goal, before the winning
goal was scored right on time. The final outcome Utd 4 – Tigers 5.

YMCA Futsal              2        vs.       12 Discoveries Titans

Discoveries put on a polished performance of technical
ability and exhibition passing scoring eight unanswered goals at the half time
break. YMCA came into the second period refreshed and on two minutes set up a
goal scoring opportunity from a rare free kick which was almost saved by the
Discoveries goal keeper for the fight back to begin. Unfortunately, the goal keeper
hurt his wrist in this remarkable action and was replaced as a precaution*. We
trust this is only a temporary setback. His team mates all set too and
maintained their team position winning at the end 12 – 2.

* Great decision to take player off as precaution, in fact arm was broken and needs surgery.

Junior
School Year 10/11 League:

Gy Tigers
8 Vs  Gy Athletic 11

Gy tigers started well with some good build up play involved, Gy Athletic
responded by breaking down possession play & hitting on the break,
MOTM was Athletics keeper Lewis Seddon with a wonder strike from his own
penalty area to score in style, the venue erupted when that went in.

Ploggers 4 Vs Havelock 4

Game of the night saw Ploggers & Havelock, Although heated at times with
some wreck less challenges both teams picking up yellow cards for their
trouble, The game was well balanced with equal possession and goal scoring
opportunities aplenty. Both teams will be disappointed to only pick up a point
each.

Ploggers 1 Vs Watford Mariners 8

Watford mariners dominated with a well deserved win in this one with excellent
defending and top goalkeeping from MOTM Watford mariners Reece Tharratt to
deny Ploggers who must be commended for their stamina and work rate after
playing back to back games.

DG

Tuesday Senior League:

  GRS
end Newton Heath’s long run without defeat and keep their own run intact for
another week. Valiant run close by YMCA, Franklin hold leaders Pelham, but is a
draw sufficient to help chasing pack?

Wednesday
Senior League:

  Two
horse race to the post, Millfields or Trawl. The rest are playing for third
place or the wooden spoon.
