Teams played each other a few weeks ago in what was YMCA’s first competitive futsal game, Clee United dominated scoring twenty without reply.

YMCA team left with long faces and looks that said ‘I’m not coming back.’ Times like these you need supportive parents, parents that understand life’s a battle and at times you have to dig in and meet the challenge.

Parents grouped together, aware most their players year younger than opponents, decided to book the YMCA hall for an hour weeks they had no game and recruit GTFC’s all conquering BTEC futsal player Danny Grant to coach the team.

In two weeks team was unrecognisable, the team was more organised, and the players was now playing with ‘intensity.’ Yes they lost the game, but from every other perspective they won.

The most important teams in any league are the teams at the bottom, top teams can always recruit, their players want to play week in week out, it’s different at the bottom were a knock becomes a life threatening injury.

Shirt sponsors Herbal Life will be delighted lads.

Word about opposition, Clee United are a great side, how they have adjusted to futsal, a completely different sport to football, so quickly at such a young  age is a credit to them.
