Wybers JFC 7 Discoveries Sporting 2

Can sporting take lessons from this defeat?

The Wybers team set a great team example of how to play futsal.

Whenever a Wybers player received a pass every team mate was giving the player with the ball options to pass too. When they did pass Wybers moved the ball faster and most importantly the receiving player was moving away from his defender when he received the pass. Sporting by contrast was static when they received the ball and played to many ‘blind’ flick-ons, which are great when they come off, but in this game they ended up to easily giving the ball to the opposition?

Sporting has the players to close the gap if they can up the team’s possession percentage.

Catenaccio 4 Caistor Tennyson 3

Catenaccio suffer most games from having an age deficit on their opposition.

The game started off strongly in Caistor favour, early minutes they opened up a two goal lead and looked to be heading to a comfortable win. Catenaccio then found a level of play that astounding took them to a 4-2 half time lead.

Second half Caistor throw everything at Catenaccio who, impressively, discovered a defensive resolve and determination above anything I have seen from the team previously, restricting Caistor to the one second half goal.

Corinthians CCcic 0 Seven Seas 9

Corinthian CC is a team from the ashes of Grimsby United, a management trying to keep the team afloat and playing at same time. With three loan players fulfilling the fixture was the main aim. From a management viewpoint they did that and a bit more as, with the help of the extra player rule, they made Seas work for their nine goals.

Seas will take the win and move onto bigger challenges I’m sure.
