SENIOR TEAMS WANTED, DON’T TAKE THE EASY ROAD, MEET THE FUTSAL CHALLENGE.

Specifically the Monday Intermediate League at YMCA.

Players have been asked to sign a signing on form before they can play. 100% have done, with no problems, greatly appreciated lads. All leagues will have to follow suit. The junior leagues are currently using a different system to compile fixtures to the one used on the senior leagues. Why the change, the senior system is an ‘off line’ system, I have to be in my office to post results. The junior is an online system, meaning when I get a smart phone I can access and change team and player details worldwide. An advantage of the new system is a team can click on any team name and they will see that teams results and fixtures, more important a team picture so that you know the opposition colours and who they have signed on.  Don’t like the picture? Take responsibility email or text me the one you do want. Will take time to get all teams signed and team pictures, but well on the way.

The league – not going to comment on individual matches, but must say that every time I go down the teams have pushed the game to another level.  This Monday some stunning goals engineered in tightest of spaces. I recall when first matches were played; my initial reaction was that the YMCA was too small for futsal, particularly given the size of some of the players. Early games was tactically disorganised, power shots from every angle was the order of the day. Now the same players are creating and closing space without thinking, power shots still rain in, but only when the opportunity arises. Interestingly for those of us with coaching qualifications, we have not been needed; the players have worked it out for themselves!
