 Week commencing

Monday 11th October

Monday Premier League Tuesday League   Wednesday League

Shamrock pick up first points of new league against Newton Heath who are closing gap on top three group. After strong start Dean Gladwell will be disappointed that his improving team was not closer than 5 goals to Valiant.

GY Institute forgot they had a match and conceded three easy points to Youngs’.

Franklin continue to rack up big scores when they have full squad out, I suspect plans are being laid for a championship assault on next league.

El Dogo’s win over Trawl takes Championship down to Madrid vs. El Dogo’s clash, barring any late dramatic slip ups.

BBS win opens 3 point gap at top, chasing Newtons’ have game in hand, after these two a separate lead is opening up as 3rd and 4th continue to slip up.
Novartis Under 11’s  Novartis Under 13’s  Kent St. Thursday League

Another top night of futsal. Grimsby Soccer Club Panthers and Tigers picked up three points each to keep pressure on the top two teams. Tigers are now undefeated in 9.

Discoveries Panthers won a 5 goal thriller vs. West Marsh taking them 2 points above Marsh in league.

New Waltham put themselves in trouble to many times with poor distribution from the GK to his outfield. Not necessarily the GK’s fault, unlike 11v11 he has 4 seconds to make a decision.  That means his four outfield players have 4 seconds to get into open space to receive the ball.  A tuff call but it has to be done otherwise the GK has a ball to nothing situation.  In open play N Waltham was good, it was this one  area that allowed GSC Panthers to run out 5-1 winners.  It has to be conceded that N Waltham was the last team to join the league and have made progress every game.

This season has been twist after twist, East Coast A vs. East Coast B was nearly the best of all. Stu Orr found two new players to complement his ‘B’ team, a situation that nearly back fired.  ECA second in league, had previously been top dog’s in this inter club encounter, not so for 75% of this game.  5-5 with 5 minutes to play could have left Stu with mud on his face; as it was a late rally took them comfortably over the line and 2 points ahead of GSC Elite at top, with the added bonus of a better goal difference.

Keelby helped league out by playing back to back games, result a victory over Novartis and defeat to second placed Healing.  One point separates Healing and Discoveries Titans with the teams to play each other.

Newcomers Humberstone played GSC in a friendly, a great game that Humberstone snatched in the second half after becoming more tactically aware. 7-6.

New teams are needed to compliment those already playing.  New league will be aged Under 14.

Bizarre happenings, Inbetweeners are 3 points and a game in hand behind Everglaze, Inbetweeners goal difference is +100 on Everglaze!

Both have East Marsh to play and a ‘trip up game’ each.

Who holds their nerve wins league.

East Coast Lions ‘B’ team goal keeper, for his outfield performance vs. East Coast Lions ‘A,’  super performance in an outstanding team performance.

Apologies I forgot your name.
