England’s Futsal squad head to Malta in the new year as their preparations for Euro qualification continue.

Peter Sturgess has selected a 14-man group for the trip, which will see the Three Lions take on Malta, Georgia and Greece over four days.

They will open the tournament against Malta on Sunday 6 January before facing Greece the following day. The trip is rounded off with a game against Georgia on Wednesday 9 January.

This tournament comes on the back of England’s matches with Norway and Denmark in Bodo, which saw encouraging performances and results.

And with Cyprus and Lithuania lying in wait in the Preliminary Qualifying Round for the European Futsal Championship in late January, these ties will provide Sturgess and his players another opportunity to find their form.

The squad sees one change from that which travelled to Norway earlier in December, with Ben Mortlock replacing Jon Kurrant.

England will be in action on home soil on 8 and 9 February when Turkey are the visitors to the SportHouse in Barking.
