WEEK ENDING 6TH APRIL STAND OUT RESULTS

1_ymca_logo_-_high_res_-_copy.jpgMagic 7’s Newton Heath inflict 7-6 win against previously undefeated
Grimsby Pelham, FC United shock Discoveries Titans 7-6 and Matt Payne bags 7 as
Millfields close in on top of table, Havelock FC score 7 as they overcome
Clarke Futsal (7-2), Ploggers score magic 7 but concede unlucky 8!

Willows Valiant source a full squad
late in the day and have enough quality to beat El Dogo’s to remain Division 1
only undefeated team.

GRS complete a Tuesday/Wednesday
double, YMCA Foyer team manage to concede less than 20 (an oak tree grows from
small shoots).

Bradley FC and EDF draw 4-4, a game
played in great spirit that no team deserved to lose.

Junior games stand out result was
the FC United defeat of Titan’s. Titan’s only lose on rare occasions.  Josh Tidswell attended the Brazilian futsal
coaching sessions and learned sufficient useful information, not just close the
gap on Titan’s, but to win by odd goal in thirteen.

Grimsby Soccer Club keep full
throttle on against Gy Tigers who need their teeth sharpening if results are to
improve.

I refereed Havelock Madrid 8
Ploggers 7. Dramatic ending, Ploggers level with 30 seconds to go, Madrid
snatch game with last kick. Good to see both teams playing a more controlled
passing game, just as previous games both teams got very little from long range
power shots, clever build up and tap in finishes brought most reward.  Ploggers lost 3 goals from pass-ins in their
own half that needlessly went to opponents, eradicate the mistakes and it can
turn close results around.

NB: Point for all new teams, a
kick-in and a corner can go back to the goal keeper.  In both cases the opponents must have played
the ball for you to have the kick-in.

Grimsby Athletic offered to take
the game vs. Crowland at short notice, sporting but spoiled when you then have
to borrow half a team of loan players.

Teams are allowed to use 2 loan
players in exceptional circumstances; the rule is not there to allow players to
play for two teams.  Respect fair play.

Back to the game, scores swung one
way then the other neither team getting more than a two goal lead in a game of
twenty goals!  Eleven all, the game was
there for Crowland’s taking with two minutes left they was two goals ahead, but
choose to go gung ho with two attackers that watched on as Athletic clawed back
to 11-11.  Again, by coincidence, with
last kick of the game.

And to CM’s Crowland Facebook
comment, NO Kevin Bryant did not play until Athletic equalised, no such thought
would enter my head, why should it?
