VALIANT CRASH TO FIRST DEFEAT

Franklin College 6 Valiant 2

Franklin started off with 16
passes before Valiant got a touch of the ball.
This was how the whole first half played out with both teams capable of
keeping possession until the critical killer pass was on.  Franklin lead 1-0 before Valiant equalised and
then went 2-1 up just before the break.
Traditionally Valiant get stronger the longer the game goes on, on this occasion
that step up to the next level was not there, Franklin who had a keen tactical
discussion at half time, took the game to Valiant, result Valiant conceded to
many fouls and after going 4-2 up scored 2 more from the ten meter mark.

Franklin was excellent value for
the win, Valiant’s first loss this league.

Scartholonia 5 Shamrock 1

Scartholonia have grasped futsal tactics, Shamrock was not
able to create when they had the ball, and Scartholonia by contrast always looked
dangerous with the ball.  Particularly on
the break were they scored a high percentage of their goals?  Shamrock battled throughout; there is a
missing link in team play that they need to indentify.

Bushell was sent off after a rash challenge, fortunately for
his Shamrock team mates there was only two minutes remaining.

Trawl 14 GRS 3

One team was on the game the
other was plugging gabs left by players unavailable on the night.  To that effect GRS did a good job; Trawl had
to work for their tally.

Trawl is adopting some high
pressure play with their keeper joining into outfield play at every
opportunity.  Will it work against to
half teams?  Interesting to find out.

NB.

Thank you to the Franklin spectator
who collected at least three balls from the hospital grounds, enabling the
referees to do what they are paid to do – referee.  If your team kicks the ball over a fence
please take responsibility to fetch it.
