TRAWL NET VALIANT, JUNIOR U15 DIVISION 1 GETS CLOSER WEEK BY WEEK

1_ymca_logo_-_high_res_-_copy.jpgWeek’s review.

Stand out Tuesday Premier League
result was Trawl’s 4-3 win against top placed Valiant, Val’ now lost two of
last three games.

Pelham win takes them back to
top, form team Newton Heath make it five wins on bounce.

Wednesday league standout result
Millfields 9 Blaine 2.  Blaine has lodged
a protest that game should have been postponed as they gave notice that they
would struggle with holidays to get full team out. This will be passed to
league committee to adjudicate.

Millfields fielded a very strong
team, one that would compete at top end of any futsal league.  A telephone call from a Millfields player
said he was impressed how they controlled early stages of game, keeping ball
for long periods.

Scartholonia played cat and mouse
with GSC, opening a three goal gap, losing it, regaining and finally falling
over line 9-8.

Junior under 13 futsal was
reduced to ‘ladder league’ games due to some teams having to play 3 11v11 games
in same week.

Under 15 title aspirants
Humberstone, FC United and Norburn Tigers all won by close scores which bodes
well for future of league.

Under 15 division 2 was the
opposite with top end teams all recording big wins, exception Crowland Athletic
who beat All Stars in nine goal thriller.

Is there a connection between
futsal and playing football?  Watch this
space, several of the league’s top junior futsal teams look set to win their
leagues and cup competitions.  Would love
to name them but don’t want it to be kiss of death, would never be forgiven.
