Junior futsal teams please note:

GFL

Several people have been asking me  ‘if we win the GFL Junior League will the team qualify for the FA National Futsal Finals held annually in Sheffield?’

j0440359.png The answer is no. The LFA has documentation detailing the 2011 qualifying procedure; in short the LFA is charged with organising,  by themselves or with partners, a qualifying procedure that ends with a LFA County Futsal Champion for various age groups.  I have asked Linzi Hewitt at the LFA that Grimsby is kept at the forefront of this procedure.

Being County Champion will still not be enough! The LFA and four other County FA’s have to meet for a ‘play off tournament.’ One team will represent all five County FA’s. The same procedure will be played out across the country.

The Finals will be very high standard, only the very best teams will have got through such an arduous qualify procedure.

I have a copy of the qualifying procedure if anyone is interested to read it.  kevin@futsal.org.uk
