Saturday 20TH February

Harvest                                    3 – 0 Lincoln United Reserves

H: Danny Durosomo, Kirk Wheeler, Nathan Emson

Harvest continued their slow progress through the backlog of games with a very laboured performance against Lincoln United Reserves at Novartis, but they still managed a three goal to nil victory over their travelling opponents. Harvest got off to the best possible start when they went ahead after only one minute! the recalled Ryan Smith broke down the right and was felled twenty-five yards out. Up stepped midfielder Daniel Durosomo who rifled in the resulting free-kick which gave Wilson in the United goal no chance. The game then seemed to become a very scrappy affair with neither team coming to terms with the heavy surface. On the occasions that Harvest broke they came up against strong United rearguard.

A change at half-time saw Gavin Schofield replace Nico Goodwin with Durosomo dropping in at the centre-back slot. This gave Harvest a new lease of life and they looked more dangerous with striker's Dale Mason and Nathan Emson both going close. On fifty minutes United broke clear but Harvest were indebted to new goalkeeper Mark Lodge who saved well at the feet of the United forward. With fifteen minutes to go Harvest went further ahead when centre-back Kirk Wheeler slammed the ball home off a 'Skoda shot that had rattled the bar for his second in two games. This seemed to deflate United and Harvest broke clear again and this time striker Nathan Emson notched his third in two games, with a loft over the keeper. This gave Harvest a win that they had grind out, but nevertheless Lincoln gave a good account of themselves.

The Lincoln goal keeper made several exceptional saves that lifted the game from the mundane.
