Grimsby Institute Futsal League breaking news – Monday 1st June

Monday No Premier or Novartis junior games due to Bank holiday.
image001.png  Professional Spanish League futsal referee to visit Grimsby for 3
weeks this summer! Staying with former Grimsby futsal star Jason Clarke.

If there’s half a chance I will ask him to referee Second Avenue game sure
to broaden his experience.

Tuesady Franklin College pick up first overdue 3 points, potential are fall guys.
Madrid continue to be our best ever youth team, beat El Dogoes 5-3.
landscape_gifhe_less_25.jpg Newton Heath take title and team performance of week with a 7-5 victory over Clee Wanderers.  Paul Goodhand bags 4 for Clee.
Wednesday Newton, Hemswell and GRS all record form wins.
Thursday I second refereed a very tight Everglaze vs. Market Hotel game at Kent Street.  Needle match for both teams reflected in foul count.  That said fouls was more over zealous play rather nastiness.  Small courts always attract high foul counts and scores.  When offences eventually broke down solid defences there where some classical quick passing ‘tap in goals.’  Very impressive both teams.

Referee John Drew reported a high standard in all 4 games.  His highlight was Fulstow Rovers ‘B’ 1 East Marsh 6 (half time); full time 8-6 Fulstow!
