PELHAM WIN TUESDAY LEAGUE AT FIRST ATTEMPT, EL DOGOES CUP DRAMA, MILLFIELDS IMPORTANT WIN

1_futsal_art_fa_5s_cropped.jpgEl Dogo’s beat the Willows Valiant in 13 goal thriller, both
teams have been having a below par season, even so Valiant would have gone into
this match as favourites not just win game but the trophy.  Referee Dean Gladwell reported ‘this was some
game, drama to the last kick.’

Pelham secured the league title with a tight 4-2 defeat of
Newton Heath, GRS have excelled to second place, and with 3 games left to play
can they hold off Valiant for runners up position.  Great achievement if they can.

Scartho lost 4-2 to Trawl.
Trawl are the mystery mid table team that gives teams, top or bottom, a
difficult game.  Scartho, in their first
season have not managed a result, that said defeats have got tighter and first
win cannot be far away.  Noticeable on
team stats is inability to score sufficient goals?

Millfields 5-4 win over Trawl (Wednesday League) propels
them to top of league and has maybe sunk Trawl title aspirations.  Teams are level with Trawl played 2 games
more.  Millfields are now 9 wins on
bounce.

Relentless FC is welcomed to league, taking place of YMCA
who has withdrawn after a season of big defeats. Their spirit is unbroken and
team is to regroup and return.
Relentless managed 6 against strong GRS side, but not enough to take
points.

Highlight of week for me was to see Blaine using two very
good 16 year old players. These 16 year olds are different, they know what
futsal is, and they want to play the game.
They are the way forward not just for team Blaine but futsal nationally.
