Newton Heath 5 Bradley 5 was a great advert for futsal and credit to teams. John Drew referee. Bradley led 4-2 at half time.
Blaine and GRS are two teams that blow hot and cold, put them together and the result is one Bet Fred could not put a price on. 6-4 GRS.
Blaine stayed on and played newcomers FC OLD Boys, my apologies to Old Boys that I had mislaid the teams contact details and have had no way of contacting them last two weeks. Pleased matter is sorted and team is playing.
JUNIOR SCHOOL YEAR 8/9 LEAGUE
The Gy All Stars final is covered in separate article, in the other games played Red Dragons clinical finishing was to much for newcomers New Waltham, great credit to N Waltham that they strived throughout the match and was rewarded with late goal, stepping into a league without a weak team is a ‘big ask.’
Ormiston Academy and Scartho was a futsal fest, the final score was 4-3 in favour of Scartho, at no time was a team more than one goal ahead. The score was in doubt to the last whistle. After the game the Ormiston players grouped deflated, ‘how could we work so hard and lose’ they asked.
Dynamite lost the final game of the night against the title holders who stayed on to complete their last league match. Second bottom GSC Dynamite was brilliant, but suffered the same fate as others before, scoring against such a mean defence. Only 39 conceded in 20 matches.
