Futsal – basement battle.

The bottom two teams of the Kent Street league; Everglaze and Futsal Warriors, met in a game full of drama.

The early stages gave no clue as to the outcome as Everglaze ran up a first quarter 3-0 lead with goals from Dankley, Brennan and Frizzell. Futsal Warriors reduced this to a half time 3-2 with two late strikes. Warriors had been wasteful in front of goal and those 2 late goals put a clearer picture on the score.

Straight into the restart Warriors equalize, 3-3, 4-3 Warriors, then the ever dangerous Eunn levels 4-4.  Then a massive collective loss of concentration by Evergalze as they allow Warriors to score direct from the restart – 5-4 Warriors.

Everglaze rally, Eunn scores into the top corner, gaolllllllll.  Keeper Michael Woods had different ideas, he arches into the air and tips the ball, that is already behind him and going into top corner over the cross bar.  How he did it I do not know; a professional keeper would have been proud of the save. My save of the season.

Two late Warriors goals saw the team home 7-4, a score the bookies would have given you strong odds against after 10 minutes.

He did not score but key for Warriors was Brian Pickering who was always on the assists sheet.

Great game played in Great Spirit.
