The position as of today August 1st 2013 is:

The FA has been approached and they told us the league commences end of September 2013. They cannot take new entries 2013 as league fixtures have been scheduled and sent out to teams. Making September 2014 our target entry date.

ever it was during the time we last competed in the National League. Supplemented by key junior players that want to play at a higher level.

A home venue will be a huge obstacle as locally we are bereft of quality venues.

An FC Grimsby Development squad has played one game against an experienced local senior team. The players, with one exception, were drawn from the Monday Intermediate teams playing at YMCA. The aim is to talk with all mangers in league so that they are included in development of FC Grimsby. The talent in the league, with added senior experience, is capable of sustaining a highly competitive team at National level. To make the leap to being highly competitive can, in my opinion, only be made with the introduction of a top level Spanish, Russian or Brazilian coach. How we reach that goal has to be a longer term wish.

The possibility of integrating with a well known local team and changing club name is on the agenda, there is no immediate need to make a decision on this item.

The short term plan is to start asking local National teams to play friendly matches once they return to serious training end of month.
