FC Grimsby hit cross roads situation after player let downs!

On Sunday the team travelled to Sheffield to play Sheffield & Hallam County FA, a complete disaster, on the Saturday night I had done as much as I could to organise the team.  All players had confirmed there availability and transport was covered.

Sunday morning I awake to a text that Player 1 is now unavailable due to a family member coming over! One player down, I can live with that, made mental note not to ask Player  1 again after such a lame excuse.

Approaching Sheffield another player rings, where is ??, supposed to be picking me up?  Sorry Kiev got a knock this morning, can’t play.  What about 2 player players you were bringing, nothing to do with me now, ‘I got a knock, just told you.’  Another player that will not get a second opportunity with me, that said this was his second opportunity.

I am now in Sheffield with 5 players (9
confirmed Saturday), Callum Blyth is somewhere close when the whistle
blows to start the match, and he cannot find the venue, not difficult
in Sheffield.

Player 3 was asked if he was available
but had no credit to a call back, what sought of education system
creates people that cannot return important calls?

Matches are tough, players have to stand up and be counted on the court, it’s the way you lift your game to the next level.

The game went as expected after the traumas; FC Grimsby got stuffed 11-0.  The players on court were fantastic; they broke a gut to cover the players who had let them down.  Somehow
we managed to get more shots off than the opposition; unfortunately we
were forced into shooting to much from long range.  The opposition had 3 England players, perhaps that’s why so many cried off?

The job of FC Grimsby manager is open to anyone qualified to take the role over.  The
Sheffield & Hallam squad had a bench of ex professional coaches and
managers; they are taking this game and league seriously.

Does FC Grimsby fold and then sit back and watch the league grow or do I cut our losses and drop out now?  I personally have paid a substantial deposit and referee fees in advance which I personally will lose.  I
would rather take that decision now than talk to limp weak individuals
that tell me one thing and do another; usually by coward’s text as that
way they do not have to explain themselves.

It’s make up your mind time, do we want an FC Grimsby team in the FA National League or not?

The next game is Sunday 3:30 Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Sheffield.

I can be contact on 07980 286663 (235704) if you have any ideas that can help.
