As in previous years the Lincolnshire County FA will be nominating successful schools at their County Finals event the opportunity to progress into the FA Youth FUTSAL Cup 2016.
Schools Partnerships run an extensive programme of FUTSAL within Schools as a priority for the County FA and every year this competition has grown and grown and we are extremely pleased this year that the North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire Schools are also involved. Which gives the same opportunity to a number of Grimsby League existing players to represent their schools in FUTSAL?
At present the LFA do not have the finances or the resource to deliver a grassroots competition for FUTSAL across the whole County and have anywhere near the same success they have through schools delivery, for example at this year’s events LFA will have approx. 5/6 schools in every School Sports Partnership (9 across the County) competing at localised events with the top two schools of each event coming together for a County Final at Grantham on the 10th and 11th March 2016, in U12 and U14 Boys and Girls separate competitions, our Schools Final alone will host over 300 players.
The underlying aim of the FA National Youth Futsal Festival is not necessarily to be elitist and to identify the very best youth Futsal clubs; more importantly the Festival’s primary role is to act as a catalyst to stimulate and support on-going youth development of Futsal across the country and particularly in Lincolnshire at the moment we feel we meet that underlying aim through the schools delivery said their spokesperson.
As per previous years the LFA have been requested to also nominate at Under 10 and Under 16 age groups and are more than happy to register a Grimsby interest in filling those slots and nominating teams from the existing competitions in Grimsby.
As with previous years, please be reminded, that NO academy or COE player either male or female can play in the competition whether that is for a club or school.
