‘New teams continue to struggle with pace & tactics of futsal – always the case.’ KB

Wednesday League

Grimsby Soccer Club 18 Grimsby AFC 3

Very difficult for AFC to make progress against opposition that can both defend and attack. As I said last week GSC are as good as any team at finishing 1v2 and 2v3 chances.

AFC Trawler-men 3 EDF Cottam 5

EDF really stepped up to the plate on this one. Outplayed on possession, a goal down after 30 seconds, how did they manage to win? Trawler-men had great possession, moved the ball around the court, but lacked penetration in the penalty zone. EDF by comparison took the chances offered and then intelligently, kept the ball themselves, never overstretching on the counter.

GRS 6 Blaine 3

GRS have stepped up a gear, winning games that they was letting slip a year ago. They never looked like beating a Blaine team with new faces on show. Big difference was GRS new what each other was doing moves ahead, Blaine , with new faces, was planning the next pace by comparison.

Gy Saxons 10 Crowland Crusaders 0

Crowland suffered the new comers fate, a resounding loss.
Saxons must have enjoyed passing opponents off the pitch. Crowland had couple of players to build a team around, always a starting point.

Result has not been included in table until confirmation that Crowland have survived this opening foray into futsal.
