 Dinamo Moscow has a season budget of 3 millions €.
– In Spain, the average attendance in the first division exceeds 2’000 spectators per match.
– In Italy, there are more Futsal players (calcio a cinque) than football players.
– Top players in Europe earn a monthly salary of 15’000 €.
– Norilsky Nickel just bought two wooden floors (approx. 50’000 € each), 1 for the home games and 1 portable floor for away games, upon approval of their opponents.
– Spanish Futsal League Federation has a deal with TVE2 for 35 matches per season. The average market share of TV audience often exceed 10%.
– In 2005 in Ostrava for the UEFA Futsal Championship, the Final Spain – Russia beat the national audience in Spain with an average of 800’000 TV viewers. They beat the audience of the basketball national Cup final for the first time.
– Futsal has been integrated to Professional Football Division (Champion’s League, Euro, UEFA Cup) since 1st January 2005.
– There was 16 countries invited for the 1st Futsal World Championship in 1989. There were a record of 104 countries present in the qualifying rounds for the FIFA World Championhsip 2004 in Taipei.
– The Futsal Pyramid Cup is a Futsal tournament played every year in Cairo in front of the Gizeh pyramids with the best teams in the world.
– The former Tiger5 tournament in Singapore had a 1-million prize money and ESPN was broadcasting it in the whole Asia. Today, this tournament is played in Kuala Lumpur, the KL5, where England made its Futsal debut.
– Top spanish club Playas de Castellón made a pre-season tour in Japan in 2004. A deal has been signed between Japan FA and Spanish FA for coach education, with the help of Javier Lozano, spanish national coach.
– The UEFA Futsal Cup Final Dinamo Moscow – Action 21 Charleroi provide real thrilling emotions: during the return match in Moscow, the trophy changed side 8 times. In the end, Charleroi won its first title (draw after extra-time 6-6; aggr.:4-3).
– out of 52, 34 countries are participating to the european competitions in 2005. More are about to enter the family (Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Denmark, Scotland, Ireland, etc..). Every 52 country has a Futsal activity, though.
– 17’500 spectators watched the matches of UEFA Futsal Cup second qualifying round in the Spiroudome in Charleroi in March 2005.
– Futsal is regularly shown on TV in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Romania, Croatia.
– 300’000 viewers visited the website www.uefa.com for the European Futsal Championship in February 2005, which correspond to the same amount of viewers for the whole year 2003.
– The Futsal spanish national team is the most titled team of all spanish collective sports. H.M the king of Spain received the delegation in Madrid in March 2005.
– UEFA TV rights for the European Futsal Championship were sold in South America (Brazil, Argentina), Australia, United States, Israel. On Eurosport, more than 27 millions telespectators watched the 16 games (14 live broadcasting), i.e. more than the UEFA U-19 Championship.
