Junior coaching query. Do juniors make progress when taken away from futsal?

p18-140702-a4Weekly  I coach and observe young players at my futsal coaching sessions.

Frustratingly there is always a temptation for parents to rush their protegees into the junior Gradley League to experience small sided team football. Question is does it do them any good?

When they return to futsal its rare the protegee has benefited from playing grass football on a large pitch with the ball having to be played forward to make progress; every player in static positions.

Most cases they have gone backwards or is it my imagination? Could be, but my observations are backed by other coaches I respect.

Finite documentary evidence is needed from accredited sports scientists,we could be self destroying our youngsters at the expense of adults organising junior football.

This was magnified Spain 2 England 0 or Futsal 2 – 0 FA Coaching schemes (yet again at top level) 0.

Does anyone have the answer please?
