KEVIN BRYANT JUNIOR FUTSAL COACHING WELCOMES IMMINGHAM PILGRIMS UNDER SEVENS TO YMCA

IMMINGHAM PILGRIMS UNDER 7 FUTSAL TEAM

IMMINGHAM PILGRIMS UNDER 7 FUTSAL TEAM

The teams played 5×10 minute matches, for several the experience was their first competitive game, the result had no meaning for the coaches,  this was about enjoyment – not the result as is to often the case with junior football. That can come later.

Players from both teams impressed with their skills, bringing the technique they had been shown at training to match play.

My YMCA group used a couple of overage players to make up a team, which makes the Immingham players progress even more impressive, we look forward to the return meeting at Immingham.

Because of lack of local opposition Pilgrims have been playing in a league every other week at the Warner Centre in Hull.

Mark Davis, head coach Immingham team, previously brought his son Miles to my Saturday morning sessions and then added futsal to the coaching he was doing with Immingham Pilgrims’s younger age groups.  From my conversations with Mark he has come to similar conclusions as I have re the benefits of futsal coaching compared to traditional outdoor football methods and the technical benefits to the player.

Both teams are seeking more matches, contact me at info@futsal.co.uk

Gay grabbed two in two minutes to guide Pete Sturgess’s side to an historic victory.

The Three Lions will now face Ukraine, Slovenia and host nation Turkey in the main round at the end of March.

The Finals will take place in Belgium early next year.

Meanwhile, England will be back in action on home soil in February with Turkey visiting the Sporthouse venue in Barking for two friendly matches.

Details correct at time of press.

Speaking to a group of London referees last week, I mentioned the damage done to junior footballers by demented parents yelling abuse from the touch lines.

They told me that senior clubs had taken action. Parents may watch matches at the Chelsea academy, for instance, but they can shout only positive encouragement. Anything offensive and they off the premises.

The same thing apparently happens at Tottenham and at AFC Wimbledon. The refs suggested that clubs across the country were following same policy. It is excellent news. At a time when the game is in urgent need of intelligent leadership, it is good to report that a serious problem has been robustly recognised.

At a presentation I attended given by Bill Bexley, several years later he became the England team sport psychologist, he advocated that parents never use a player name during a match.

He advocated that parents should support the team, well done Blues when they score a goal; brilliant defence Blues; great save Blues.

The bonus of such support is that every player gets praise for individual team effort. The great tackle has equal value to the great gaol. As well the ‘lesser players’ get equal praise as the ‘star players.’

so easy to achieve on match day. With practice and self discipline it can be achieved. Easier if the team has a designated parent to have a word with newcomers who have not been introduced to rule.

LOAN PLAYER RULE CLARIFICATION

FIFA.COM for FUTSAL LAWS IN VIDEO FORMAT

FIFA.COM for FUTSAL LAWS IN VIDEO FORMAT

A player can only play for 1 team during a competition. No transfers are allowed during a competition. Once you have kicked a ball for a team that is your team until that competition is completed.

In exceptional circumstances, & if cleared by myself and opposition team manager a ‘loan’ player can be used. If player does so without permission the opposition can claim match points.

A player cannot play for 2 teams in same league with the exception of goal keeper if cleared by League.

Kevin Bryant – League Organiser

This rule is to help a team with an injured player or player on holiday. It is down to sportsmanship of teams that rule is not abused.

MONDAY INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE RAISES BAR TO NEW LEVEL – NEW TEAMS BEWARE

GRIMSBY SWANS APPLIED TO JOIN LEAGUE - NEW TEAMS WELCOME

GRIMSBY SWANS APPLIED TO JOIN LEAGUE – NEW TEAMS WELCOME

Indoor games played at YMCA last night, players aged 16-17, a revelation from last time I observed league. Whilst I have been extolling virtues of the 13-14 at Novartis this group has totally changed the way they play futsal and they way they respect the referee and the game. We do have Brazilian talents in Town its just that we coaches have failed to give them the same platform (futsal) the Brazilians and Spaniards have given their proteges. 3 games and I could not tell you the score in any, that was not the important issue, I was watching skill, touch, imagination, matched by skilled defencive strategies.  Finally referee Dean Gladwell, brilliant, his command and knowledge was crucial to the environment the games was played in.

LUTON TOWN VIEW POINT ON VISITING GRIMSBY TOWN FA TROPHY TIE

Paul Buckle.

Paul Buckle.

Paul Buckle is looking forward to Luton Town locking horns with fellow Blue Square Bet Premier side Grimsby Town in the FA Trophy quarter finals, but knows that his side cannot afford to take their eye off the ball in the league.

The Hatters will travel to Blundell Park for the last eight tie on Tuesday, January 29 after being drawn against their fellow promotion contenders on Monday morning.

But before then, Luton have three league games against Telford, Nuneaton and Lincoln City, not to mention the small matter of the FA Cup fourth round tie away to Premier League outfit Norwich City, and Buckle is keen for them to keep up their recent good form.

“It will be a tough game and a good one,” said Buckle. “It’s two teams who are at the right end of the table and I’m sure it will be a brilliant game when it comes around. We’ve got quite a bit in between and it’s another long away game for us, but it’s one we’ll look forward to.”
